Dr. Julia Simak graduated from the University of Munich in 2006 and started further training immediately after her cardiology doctoral thesis, at the Clinic of Small Animal Medicine in the University of Munich. Her scientific thesis was about new echocardiographic methods in the diagnosis of Dilated Cardiomopathy in Doberman Pinschers. Cardiomyopathies and arrhythmias are still one of her main research interests.
In 2008, she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Munich. She started a cardiology residency programme with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine at the University of Munich in 2009. She became an American board-certified cardiologist in the year of 2012
Cardiology is Julia’s preferred specialty. To enhance the quality of life for animals with heart disease is the driving force behind what she does in as a veterinarian. With an exact diagnosis you are often able to give patients with severe heart diseases a prolonged survival time as well as an excellent quality of life.
She will always put emphasis on the human side of the patient when making all treatment decisions. In the seven years at the Clinic of Small Animal Medicine in Munich she gained extensive experience in solving often difficult cardiology cases.
Her love of cardiology is that, in the majority of cases you can make an exact diagnosis with non-invasive diagnostic tests, in a relatively short time. Thereafter you are able to start with the most up-to-date and effective treatment available. She can also provide the owner with all necessary and important information on the disease.
